Weather Alert #2: U.S. Embassy Copenhagen, Denmark (October 20, 2023)
Location: Southern/Eastern Denmark and Bornholm
Event: The Danish Meteorological Service’s severe weather warnings for high winds (up to 55 miles per hour) and elevated water levels (up to 8 feet) in coastal areas of southern and eastern Denmark and Bornholm remain in effect until October 21. The forecast also calls for widespread rains, increasing the risk of flooding in the low-lying coastal regions of southeast Jutland and the southern portion of Funen. Expect strong winds, flooding, travel delays, and possible power outages in these regions.
Affected municipalities are providing specific public guidance. Monitor their websites for additional information and follow their instructions.
