On the occasion of Denmark’s Constitution Day, both President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State, Michael R. Pompeo have sent Constitution Day messages. You can read them here:

Message from the President to HM Queen Margrethe II:

Your Majesty:

Denmark has long been a close friend and ally of the United States.  It is my great honor to congratulate you as you celebrate Constitution Day on June 5.

The strong and enduring friendship between the United States and Denmark is rooted in common values, deep people-to-people connections, and dynamic trade and investment ties.  As we look forward to reopening our Consulate in Greenland, we anticipate strengthening our deep bonds throughout the Kingdom.

Denmark has been a valuable partner and a leader in promoting peace throughout the world, including in the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, the NATO Mission in Iraq, and the NATO Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan.  We thank Denmark for its strong commitment to advancing global peace and prosperity.

I wish you and the people of Denmark a joyful Constitution Day as you forge new traditions to adapt to these challenging times facing us all.

Sincerely,

Donald J. Trump

The Kingdom of Denmark and the United States are steadfast allies and partners, and we greatly value Denmark as a leader in promoting peace throughout the world, including in the Coalition to Defeat ISIS, the NATO Mission in Iraq, and the NATO Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan. We thank Denmark for its strong commitment to advancing global peace and prosperity.

Again, we congratulate the people of Denmark and wish you a happy Constitution Day.
