On May 6, 2014 the Denmark-America Foundation (DAF) celebrated its 100th anniversary at Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen with speeches, classical music and a humorous ballet especially choreographed for the occasion. Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, Minister of Science Sofie Carsten Nielsen, and Ambassador Gifford joined a large number of leading Danish businessmen and women to honor the exchange organization that has sent more than 19,000 Danish students to the United States since before WWI.
